Privacy Policy

The short version: Vokabo has no account, no analytics, no ads, and no third-party trackers. We don't collect your data. Everything you create stays on your device and, if you choose, syncs through your own private iCloud, which we cannot access.

Who we are

Vokabo is an iPhone and iPad app made by KLL Dev ("we", "us"), a developer based in the United Kingdom. You can reach us any time at klldev@icloud.com.

Data we collect

None. We do not operate accounts or servers for Vokabo, and we do not collect, store, sell, or share any personal information. We use no analytics or advertising SDKs and no third-party tracking of any kind. The app does not ask you to sign in.

What the app stores, and where

On your device. The words you add, their translations and examples, your progress, and your settings are stored locally on your device.
Your private iCloud (optional). If you're signed in to iCloud, this data syncs across your own devices using Apple's iCloud, specifically your app's private CloudKit database and iCloud key-value storage. This data lives in your personal iCloud account; we have no access to it and never receive a copy. Its handling is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

On-device intelligence

Translations, definitions, example sentences, verb conjugations, and the AI Chat are generated on your device using Apple's built-in Translation and Foundation Models (Apple Intelligence) frameworks. The words you enter and your conversations are processed locally and are not sent to us or to any third party.

Speech

Vokabo can read words aloud using your device's built-in text-to-speech. Nothing is recorded, and no audio leaves your device. The microphone is not used to record you; the related system permission entry exists only because text-to-speech is part of the speech framework.

Notifications

If you turn on the daily reminder, notifications are scheduled locally on your device. We do not run a push server and we do not receive any information about your reminders.

Purchases

Vokabo Pro is an auto-renewing subscription processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment details. Apple may provide us with anonymous, aggregated sales information that does not identify you. Purchases are governed by Apple's terms and privacy policy.

Children

Vokabo is rated 4+ and is suitable for all ages. Because we collect no data at all, we collect no data from children.

Your rights & deleting your data

Since your data lives on your device and in your own iCloud, you're in control: delete individual words in the app, delete the app to remove its on-device data, and manage or remove iCloud data from Settings → [your name] → iCloud on your device. As we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or erase on our side. If you're in the UK or EU and have a question about your rights, email us and we'll help.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update this page and revise the date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
