Strolla
Frequently asked
Does Strolla work offline?
Yes. Each city is a compact pack you download once: its routes, stories and narration all work in airplane mode, powered on-device. The one honest limit is the base map: Apple's Maps needs a connection to load fresh map tiles, so download your city's pack (and let the map load once) before you lose signal.
What's free, and what does Strolla Pro add?
Your current travel city is free, fully unlocked: all walks, Explore, and narrated stories. Strolla Pro unlocks every city plus Route Studio, Apple Watch and family sharing. Pricing is planned at roughly $4.99/month or $29.99/year and may change before launch. It's a subscription, handled entirely by the App Store, with no separate account.
Which languages are supported?
Nine at launch: English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Dutch, Japanese and Chinese (Simplified). Stories are authored per language from that language's own Wikipedia. A French traveller in Kyoto gets French stories about Japanese temples, not a runtime machine translation.
How does narration work?
Tap Listen on any story and Strolla reads it aloud in the story's own language, using on-device speech, offline, with nothing sent to a server. The whole walk can also live on your Lock Screen and Apple Watch, with haptic taps for each turn so you can keep your phone away.
Is my data private?
Yes. Strolla collects no personal data, has no analytics or ads, and never sees where you walk. Your custom walks sync across your Apple devices through your own iCloud. See our Privacy Policy.
Which devices are supported?
Strolla is built for iPhone, with companion experiences on Apple Watch and iPad. It targets a recent version of iOS; exact requirements will be listed on the App Store at launch.
